A historic Day for AAOHA

By Rexhep Myftari

As we continue to deliver food every week to hundreds of people, we are also growing stronger with new partners joining our efforts to help all communities in the Bronx.

AAOHA Albanian American Open Hand Association is an Albanian American organization established in 2014 in Bronx New York.

Our sisters from our homeland Albania, Prena Grishaj and Kelmenore Grishaj have blessed us with an unexpected gift from their church. They have raised funding from their perish for our cause, helping Bronxites with food supplies.

This marks yet another corner stone for AAOHA, $20000 thousand dollars is the biggest funding we have received so far from a single donor. We are fortunate to have the support from church  st Zitas Villa and our sisters Prena Grishaj and Kelme Nora in our quest to help the most needy in Bronx New York.

Our pantry is getting more traction as we continue our tireless work with our wonderful volunteers helping all communities, old and young, woman and children who need help in these trying times.

Prena Grishaj in her addressing the issue said that she was thankful for the opportunity to work with AAOHA and it is very important for her not to take credit for the donation but tell the full story.

This is, she continues, not my money. I worked with nuns for 30 years and they left this money behind. I give great care to what their wishes were for their money. This money came from the nuns of the Sisters of Reparation of the Congregation of Mary and Saint Zita’s Villa.

Furthermore Prena Grishaj says, I am just a servant for this charity. I hold this check, but it is not from me, it is from the nuns who trusted me with it.

This donation was received with open hands by Aleksander Nilaj founder of AAOHA and his team of hardworking volunteers.

God bless our Albanian counterparts and our American Nation said Alex Nilaj who is restlessly keeping up with the great work him and his team are doing.

This is a new chapter for AAOHA continued Mr.Nilaj, we are now being seen not only by God but also by Albanian brothers and sisters who are now stepping in and helping out with our organization more and more day by day.
