JAINA Education CD Announcement by Mr. Pravin Shah

It is with immense pleasure, that we announce the publication of the JAINA Education and Literature CD, on the eve of 2600 birth celebration of Lord Mahavir (we are a few months late). The CD contains over 2000 files, which consist of more than 10,000 pages of printed materials covering variety information of Jainism in English. It will be a great resource for everyone interested in Jain philosophy, including Jain pathashala teachers and students around the globe.

The main objective of the JAINA Education committee is to make Jain principles known to the Jain communities at large and make Jain literature widely available in English. In the countries like USA, Canada, UK, and Africa where many Jains have settled permanently, their children do not have easy access to Jain literature in English. Also there is a strong need to publish Jain Literature in variety of mediums (Videos, Cassettes, CD, DVD, and Web deployment) for the English speaking people, having interest in the Jain philosophy, religion and scriptures. We hope that this CD will satisfy some of these needs.

A lot of minds, and a lot of blessings, directly and indirectly, have touched this noble project. We sincerely appreciate and thank every person who made this project successful. The majority of the material compiled in this CD has been collected from various Jain pathshala teachers and scholars of North America, from the past publications of similar CDs by the committee under the leadership of Dr. Gada, from internet and e-mails of public domain, and about past 15 years of my collection at the Jain Study Center of North Carolina.

Formal Inauguration
Gurudeva Shri Chitrabhanuji will formally inaugurate the CD during Paryushana Parva (Mah�vir Janma V�chan Day) in September 2002 at the Jain Society of Northern California (San Francisco).
