What does it mean to be Sufi in America? A Research of Four Sufi Orders in New York City

My research focuses on four Sufi orders in New York City. Through interviews and the participation in weekly meetings and dhikrs, my aim is to get a better understanding of how various Sufi orders function as a group and how their individual members, non-Muslim and Muslims alike, have come to identify themselves as Sufis.
