The Dwarkadish Temple is part of the Pushtimarg of the famous north Indian Vaishnava leader, Shree Vallabhacharya. The worldwide Pushtimarg community is headquartered in Kakroli, Rajasthan, where the community’s guru, Vrajesh Kumar, lives, and also in Baroda, Gujarat. This temple is one of four Pushtimarg temples in the US; the other three are in Houston, TX, Vraj, PA, and the Vaishnav Temple of New York, Inc., 196-43 Foothill Avenue, Holliswood, NY, 11423. Other Pushtimarg temples are in India, London, Nairobi, and Dubai.Activities and Schedule
Darshan (worship by viewing) happens six times daily, starting at 7:30 A.M. and ending at 8:00 P.M.. There is a full calendar of festival events, averaging three per month, the most occurring in August and November. The priest tends to the central murthi (image of Dwarkadish, Krishna) by daily changing the clothing and jewels that adorn the image, and performing arti, while the professional cook prepares the food offering, or prasad.Date Center Founded
