About

Our mission is to provided educational classes, ceremonies and special events which are designed for Buddhist and Tibetan cultural appreciation and preservation. For more than a decade we have studied, celebrated, awarded and reached out to each other and the broader community to share Buddhist ideas, art and culture. We demonstrate respect for other religions by hosting and participating in interfaith events. We also aspire to honor the source of our knowledge base by assisting schools and teachers in the country of Tibet.

Description

Information in this profile was supplied by Linda Mancini, Director of the LamRim Center, in June of 2006. "Activities and Schedule:
Buddhist philosophy as practiced in the Tibetan tradition. All are welcome. Classes and events as announced, usually monthly. We appreciate our gracious host, Christ's Church Longwood, and thank supporters for donations which support venues and translations. All work is volunteer, there is no staff. Our teacher has never been paid; he requests only attention." "We currently meet monthly usually on a Sunday late afternoon. With respect to our excellent visiting teachers, our schedule changes to suit them. The schedule does vary. In March of 2006 we met four times when Acharya Lama Gursam visited our Center. " "Lobsang Dorgay, Spiritual Director and Teacher, began his studies at Gaden Monastery in Lhasa, Tibet. He has kindly taught and profoundly directed us in the LamRim with inspiration and devotion since 1998. Additionally, we are often honored by the eloquent translations of Pema Tsewang Shastri and by local and international guest teachers." "Our host Christ Church Longwood is a beautiful old building with a great tower and a great founder who was devoted to diversity and encouraged more than one religion to exist within the structure. We have been running classes and special events continuously since 1998.  The LamRim Buddhist Center, Inc. is a Commonwealth of Massachusetts non profit religious and educational organization, incorporated in 1999, continuously providing classes and special events directed for Buddhist and Tibetan cultural appreciation and preservation."
