Taking care of our Lord in the person of our sisters and brothers is at the heart of what the terms "Church" and "Parish" are all about. Our charity truly does begin at home. And then, in the spirit of true Christian love, we are called to responsibility for the rest of our community, especially for the poor.

We are a Pan-Orthodox community dedicated to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the traditions of Holy Orthodoxy with an emphasis on worship in the English language, community and social outreach.

Our emphasis is on liturgical life and worshiping the Holy Trinity.

We are first and foremost an Eastern Orthodox Church dedicated to proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ and worshiping Him according to the traditions of the Apostolic Church. Our community is faithful to the traditions of the Ukrainian people.

Our parish serves an enduring witness to proclaim the Gospel of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, as transmitted from the time of the apostles and the Early Church through the centuries to the present day. Our approach is both traditional in liturgy and current in perspective as the faithful address contemporary issues at home and in society to find personal salvation in the Living God.

Since its founding in 1989, the Boston Debre Selam St. Michael's Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church has been providing a high degree of spiritual service for its members and other Ethiopian laity residing in the Greater Boston Area.
