For more than a decade we have studied, celebrated, awarded and reached out to each other and the broader community to share Buddhist ideas, art and culture. We demonstrate respect for other religions by hosting and participating in interfaith events. We also aspire to honor the source of our knowledge base by assisting schools and teachers in the country of Tibet.

The movement's three major aims are:
1. Promote the civic understanding and acknowledgment of the naturalistic worldview, which is free of supernatural and mystical elements.
2. Gain public recognition that persons who hold such a worldview can bring principled actions to bear on matters of civic importance.
3. Educate society toward accepting the full and equitable civic participation of all such individuals.

The Boston Area Coalition of Reason is a group made up of numerous organizations in central and eastern Massachusetts that share a worldview grounded in reason over superstition, and scientific truth over revealed truth. We are freethinkers, humanists, skeptics, atheists and agnostics that hope to provide a larger sense of community and to be a central clearinghouse for information on all like minded groups in the area.
We are part of the United Coalition of Reason, a national organization that works to raise the visibility of local groups in the community of reason. They conduct campaigns which highlight the fact that nontheists live in every community across America. Locally, they promote informal cooperation among local groups, host a local coalition website, provide group leaders with free public relations training, and fund a publicity campaign.
