Greater Boston is home to a growing number of communities of spiritual practitioners who do not self-identify with the specific traditions outlined on our main page. Though many of these groups share commonalities with other world religions--including Islam, Hinduism, and Christianity--they have a unique approach to faith, worship, and practice that defies precise categorization or have chosen to be listed as “other.” In addition, Boston is home to many who do not identify with a faith tradition, including those who would call themselves atheists.
Religious life in Greater Boston is also informed and enhanced by the contributions of organizations with a secular mission, including women’s groups, ethnic and language organizations, civic groups, and a range of interfaith organizations.
