AARC Visits Capitol Hill, Meets with Members of Congress

AARC leadership had a productive meeting with Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis to discuss key issues impacting the Albanian-American community and U.S. policy in the Balkans.
President Martin Vulaj, Chairman of the Board Ilirjan Rusi, and Board Member Vehbi Bajrami highlighted the importance of Kosovo’s integration into NATO and reaffirmed support for mutual recognition as the central goal of the dialogue process.
We also raised concerns regarding Albanian language rights in North Macedonia the importance of full implementation of the Ohrid Agreement as a mechanism of stability and emphasized the significance of the nomination of a new U.S. Ambassador to Albania in strengthening bilateral ties.
The discussion underscored the critical role of the enduring security partnership between the United States and the Albanian people as a bulwark against Russian influence and destabilizing tactics in the region.
AARC remains committed to advancing these priorities on a bipartisan basis and strengthening the strategic relationship between our two nations.

The leadership of the Albanian American Relations Council (AARC) had a productive and forward-looking meeting with Congressman Robert Aderholt, Co-Chair of the Congressional Albanian Issues Caucus.
Our discussion focused on expanding and revitalizing the Caucus to better reflect the strategic importance of the Albanian-American partnership. Congressman Aderholt’s longstanding support has been instrumental—particularly his role in advancing Albania’s accession to NATO—making it natural to also address Kosovo’s path toward NATO membership.
While acknowledging the procedural realities, we emphasized that today’s global security environment leaves little room for unnecessary delay. Albanians have consistently proven themselves to be reliable allies and committed security partners. Strengthening Kosovo is not only a regional priority—it directly advances the national interests of the United States.
AARC remains committed to working with leaders on both sides of the aisle to reinforce this vital partnership.
