AARC: A Productive and Substantive Meeting with Senator Booker

AARC leadership had a productive and substantive meeting with U.S. Senator Cory Booker of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
At a time when polarization runs deep in American politics, it is important to underscore that support for Kosova and for a strong U.S.–Albanian relationship remains firmly bipartisan. Both Democrats and Republicans recognize the strategic importance of the Albanian factor in the Balkans. AARC remains committed to working across the political aisle to further strengthen the enduring ties between the American and Albanian people.
During our discussion, the Senator agreed that it is in the U.S. national interest for Kosova to be integrated into NATO and for Albanians in the region to play a strengthened role as a stabilizing force and a bulwark against malign Russian and Chinese influence. AARC emphasized the importance of renewed U.S. leadership in the dialogue process, with mutual recognition as its central objective—consistent with longstanding U.S. policy.
We also briefed the Senator on current developments in North Macedonia, including ongoing concerns regarding the implementation of Albanian language rights and recent student protests, underscoring the need for sustained attention to democratic standards as mechanisms of stability.
The meeting concluded with a forward-looking discussion about a potential visit by the Senator to the region in the near future.
AARC will continue its advocacy to ensure that Albanian issues remain a priority in Washington and that the U.S. maintains its leadership role in promoting peace, stability, and democratic values in the Balkans. (Source: AARC)
