Kuwait values opportunities to expand economic cooperation with Kosovo

Diplomatic Ambassador Naif Alenezi, chargé d’affaires at the Embassy of Kuwait in Albania and non-resident ambassador to Kosovo, received on Thursday in Tirana Mr. Vehbi Bajrami, a successful businessman in the United States and publisher of the Albanian-American newspaper Illyria in New York.
During the meeting, discussions focused on opportunities to deepen cooperation between Kuwait and Kosovo, with emphasis on economic collaboration between the two countries.

Mr. Bajrami, one of the most prominent advocates of the cause of Kosovo and Albanian issues in the United States, expressed appreciation for Kuwait’s support for the people of Kosovo. He said that the citizens of Kosovo are very grateful for the generous aid provided by the friendly country and people of Kuwait to those who suffered from the war.

The publisher of Illyria expressed confidence that the friendly relations between the two countries will take on new dimensions now, during Kosovo’s phase of economic development. He stated that Kosovo has resources and potential for rapid economic growth and highlighted the investment opportunities for Kuwaiti investors in projects of mutual interest.

Mr. Bajrami also praised the economic relations between the United States and Kuwait as well as their cooperation in the field of defense and global security.
“Kuwait is one of America’s key allies, something that has been proven especially during regional crises, including the recent ones,” he said.

Ambassador Alenezi, for his part, expressed satisfaction that his country has supported the implementation of several projects aimed at improving the lives of Kosovo’s citizens after the war. He recalled some of the projects for building homes for citizens left homeless and initiatives to improve health and social services in Kosovo.

Mr. Alenezi agreed that Kuwait can help accelerate Kosovo’s economic development through investments in various development projects. He expressed confidence that Kuwaiti investors will view investments in Kosovo with great interest, emphasizing that government institutions will provide all necessary support for the realization of mutually beneficial projects.

Also present at the meeting were Beqir Ismaili, former Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo to Egypt and a well-known expert on the Arab world, and Ramadan Muçolli, editor of Illyria newspaper for Kosovo.
