Naim Murseli and Granit Plava will spend the rest of their lives in prison. The Basic Court in Prishtina has sentenced them to life imprisonment for the murder of Liridona Ademaj in November 2023, Koha.net reports.
In addition, the trial panel decided that the other defendant, Kushtrim Kokalla, be sentenced to 30 years’ imprisonment for the criminal offence of assisting in aggravated murder.
According to the indictment, all three had previously agreed that the murder would be carried out by the accused Plava, with Murseli agreeing to pay him 30,000 euros.
None of them was present in the courtroom when the verdict was announced.
The Basic Court’s decision was welcomed by Liridona Ademaj’s family, main political leaders, foreign dignitaries and observers, as well as human and women rights organizations in the country. (OSCE Media Monitor)
