U.S. Department of Justice offers specialized training to police officers in Albania

Charge d’Affaires David Wisner, Minister of Interior Taulant Balla, and Police Oversight Agency (POA) Director General Florian Sulejmani congratulated 18 police officers who completed a specialized training course on inspections as required by the POA Law established in 2020.

The training, conducted by the U.S. Department of Justice’s ICITAP during the past two months, focused on “action learning” to achieve workplace outcomes.

Participants learned the theory and practice of a three-stage inspection process, including designing protocols, planning and conducting field inspections, improving data analysis and writing reports. They completed three inspections for the State Police, Guard of the Republic, and Fire and Rescue services, each focusing on one of 18 functional areas under the POA Law.

The inspections resulted in evidence-based reports with recommendations for performance enhancement. (Source: US Embassy in Tirana)
